Peppermint Mocha- White Russian Style

So back story…

The first time I had a White Russian I was in Las Vegas. On that particular night I had already had a few “grown up” drinks (I mean it’s Vegas). We found our way into another casino to another bar and struck up a conversation with the bartender. This bartender introduced me to my first ever White Russian- and it was good! Not “I’m drunk and everything tastes good” kind of good. It was yummilicious! We sat at that bar and I drank those things like kids eat ice cream. Unfortunately by the time we left and finished up our night I couldn’t for the life of me remember the name of that drink. I was sad. And then I went home. And completely forgot about my Vegas Ice Cream drink for years.

And Then…

I had a bottle of Kahlua and a bottle of Baileys in my home bar. And I was curious- what did people actually do with these besides put them in coffee or baked goods. So Google happened. And the angels started singing. There on the screen was a picture of Vegas Ice Cream- and it had a real name!! That was a few years ago and now I always make sure I have them on hand for those days I want a yummy dessert drink. Like last night. When I really wanted a Peppermint Mocha. I also really wanted a White Russian. And y’all- lightbulb! I know I’m not the first to think of combining the two but I had to share it anyway, just in case you need that little lightbulb nudge.

Here’s what you need:

1 part Peppermint Vodka

1 part Kahlua Mocha

1 part Irish Cream

3 parts Milk or Cream

Shake well- Mr. Husband put my actual bar shaker up too high for me to reach and so I had to improvise with a shaker bottle 😉

I use a jigger but use whatever you have depending on whatever size glass you are using. I like to swirl chocolate inside my martini glass and top with whipped cream. I also like to add crushed candy canes on top- unfortunately Twinkle, our Elf on the Shelf, had eaten them all. This Peppermint Mocha White Russian is sure to warm you up in a hurry on cold winter nights. Christmas is next weekend. Whip yourself up a batch, put on some Christmas music and get those presents wrapped!
